Coimbatore city is the second largest and most important city in Tamil Nadu apart from Chennai and is one of the fastest growing Top 20 centres of economic activity in India. It leads the country in a variety of industries. The per capita income of citizens of this region is the highest in Tamil Nadu, leaving them with high disposable income. Coimbatore City and environs have 6 Universities and a large number of other Educational Institutions of repute, from where more than 10,000 engineers and around 30,000 graduates from other disciplines pass out every year. People of this region has a penchant for books. On a rough estimate, Coimbatore has about 30% Malayalam language speaking population and 15% Hindi speaking population. The rest are again a mixture of other Indian languages, making this city a truly cosmopolitan mix with multiple language speaking people. Coimbatore and literature are synonymous with each other and the region can boast of producing many forward thinking writers. In this background, "Coimbatore Book Festival 2023" will bring lots of cheer to the people of this region.

The Coimbatore District Small Industries Association popularly known as CODISSIA was established in the year 1969, and is the biggest and highly robust of its kind in India which enjoys the support of a huge member base, all of whom are industrialists. Total involvement and team spirit of its members have elevated CODISSIA as the torchbearer of Industry for its growth and prosperity. CODISSIA was formed with the sole aim to have Industrial and Economic development of the Coimbatore region. To promote the cause, CODISSIA constructed a huge Trade Fair Complex where we started organizing industrial trade fairs which gave a boost to the industries of this region. As a social responsibility, CODISSIA started organising theCoimbatore Book Festival in the year 2015 with an aim toinculcate and promote reading habits, especially among the younger generation, who are currently being carried away by the electronic gadgets.

CODISSIA - The Coimbatore District Small Industries Association is organising the third edition of its literary festival, "Coimbatore Book Festival 2023" from 21 to 30 July 2023 at Halls A, B & C of CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex, Coimbatore.

This is an event organized and sponsored by CODISSIA as one of its social responsibility projects and not for profit. We organize this fair in association with the Book Sellers and Publishers Association of South India (BAPASI). We have endeavored to pack as much value as possible to both - the Book Publishers / Sellers as well as the Readers in this fair, in order to create a healthy society in future. Therising patronage from the book lovers of this region and appreciation by one and all, has motivated us to go ahead with the 5th Edition this year.
